#HD 2600 XT SERIES#
After all, these new graphics cards have only been released for a couple of months and the bulk of the cards, the mainstream Radeon HD 24 series have only been available for less than a month. This is a rather vague statement that was not substantiated with any figures but of course, it is early days yet for AMD to compile a comprehensive report card for ATI's performance, especially the new Radeon HD series. However, AMD seems to think that there is some light at the end of the tunnel, with the report claiming, "initial sales of the ATI Radeon HD 2000 family of graphics processors were strong in the channel". While integration costs are expected from any acquisition or merger, how has AMD benefited from the ATI takeover so far?įrom what we gleaned going through the financial results, the jury is still out though the report mentioned that graphics shipments have been stagnant compared to the first quarter. The US$600 million figure also included a US$130 million acquisition related charged for graphics chipmaker ATI. Total revenues climbed by around 12%, but the company suffered a net loss of US$600 million and follows from an operating loss of US$504 million in the first quarter. Like I said, I'll continue to do what I can to keep those pretentious jerks any more of my or my company's money.AMD continues to bleed red ink, going by the latest financial numbers for the second quarter. It just shouldn't be that hard to get a video card replacement when the manufacturer has 2 stores in my town.
#HD 2600 XT PRO#
To my knowledge the only exception is Final Cut pro which they bought up and stopped Windows versions of in order to corner that market, and their iLife crap. I will continue doing everything in my power to let people know how shoddy their overpriced hardware is and that there are LOTs of alternatives that work as well as or better than anything twice the cost of the Apple product. I am just simply amazed at how bad Apple's customer service is.
#HD 2600 XT HOW TO#
The guy who told me how to get through the voicemail at the store should have saved me the trouble and frustration and just told me that the Apple store can't do anything faster than 3-5 days, and that they wouldn't sell me the video card. The person at the store had the unfortunate job of letting me know that the Apple store doesn't sell video cards to customers, but if I wanted to bring in the machine, their Genius would quote me a new card, and I could pick up the system 3 to 5 days later after they had installed the card. He let me know that to get a person in the store I had to say "representative" to the first 2 prompts. Then I explained ot the guy that I had been trying to get in touch with people at the store to see if they had the parts I needed. I explained ot them that the video card was recalled, but the wording of the recall indicated that it may be extended past the original end date of 7/2011. I unable to get the store on the phone, with their voicemail menus ending up directing me out to the mothership in Cupertino. In the process I had an incredibly bad experience with Apple's "Geniuses". Fortunately, despite the ATI video being out, the thing still boots, and people can go get their Quark licenses, and the users who use the machine as a file server are able to get to the shares. As a result the user is hobbling along on an early 2007 MacBook Pro. Today the person is back in the office and needed their video card back. Since that worked, despite it not being listed as compatible, that's what I bought her as a replacement. What the user hobbled through yesterday on was an early 2009 system's video card, which appears to have been the GeForce GT 120.
